Jupiter in The 1st house, Expanding Upon the Planet of Expansion

Yes you read that right, today’s post is about expansion and Jupiter is the king of all planets when it comes to expanding, even better than Sun. Known as the greatest benefic in astrology( for those of you thinking it is Sun, you would be slightly misplaced because while it is a Rajasic planet, owing to it’s fiery, masculine temperament, in a vein very similar to Mars, it is in many circles considered a malefic planet).
I mentioned in the very first post of this blog, that Rahuvians have a larger than life personality and gain widespread popularity. Jupiter is in fact one step ahead of Rahu, Jupiter if well placed in the angular houses along with other planets is very much capable of making you immortal and not always for the right reasons if it happens to be placed with Rahu, forming the well known Guru Chandal Yoga, which makes a person extremely intelligent but they often use it for manipulative purposes, which is why you will not be surprised to know that cult leaders/politicians have this position, they gain extraordinary success because of the intelligence, charismatic popularity bestowed by this combination and those very same attributes prove to be their undoing, as seen in the case of Arun Nehru, who was the head of Jensen and Nicholson at the age of 37 but his pride and bullying demeanor made sure he never became prime minister, even though he was a crowd puller and election winner.

Although it would be sorely wrong to say that only Rahu-Jupiter give pride, Jupiterian natives are not exactly short on pride themselves. Normally very well performing in academics since in Hindi it is known as Guru and represents teachers, it gives a medium height, a broad body prone to corpulence, an indulgent demeanor and an instant tendency to dislike being bossed around, these men prefer to be the captains of their ship and choices. Notable examples of immortality being achieved through this placement are Dev Anand, Mahatma Gandhi, Richard Gere, Gerard Depardieu, Rajesh Khanna, Barack Obama( although his is in conjunction with Saturn, similar to MS Dhoni, who has Jupiter Saturn Moon but you get the point), APJ Abdul Kalam and the list goes on. Neither of us can deny that the people have mentioned have achieved an immortality in their achievements and had long, illustrious careers, surviving rough patches but their light never dimmed. These are the examples that got famous but even for the not so famous natives, a strong sense of luck and popularity, one Jupiterian native I knew had such a chart that pointed towards self destructive tendencies but since he had an exalted Jupiter in Cancer, despite his best efforts to ruin himself, he actually carved out a stable, well earning career and outperformed many of his peers, which did make him the source of gossip and jealousy but then such is the circus of human personality.
Jupiterian natives often are moral minded, which is why many Jupiterian natives enter the church and other religious institutions, swiftly ascending to the top as well, as well the legal profession where they become justices and other high posts. Normally they have a philosophical streak as well so it is not a surprise that they enter the writing/ motivational speaking field as well, for they have a lot to say and they know exactly how to work a crowd, I would like to say that from personal experience that not once have I encountered a bad looking Jupiterian, they are normally handsome fellows, style comes to them with ease, although it is not a big surprise to see them broad and bulky, because they tend to indulge in eating quite a lot and often have big appetites, very similar to their personalities. You would not on the other hand see a fat Saturn/Rahu native, they are normally lean and have unconventional good looks, though this is more pronounced in Rahu natives. The Jupiter has a big wallet too but normally spends it on charity or luxury, they do not believe in living cheaply, they live life large, so money comes to them but goes as quickly as well.
Owing to their indulgent behavior, it is not surprising that they can get addicted easily to vices so that is something they should take care of, because at the end of the day, health trumps public fame. I mentioned earlier that this is a planet that represents teachers but this is not to say that these natives are subservient in the classroom, for they have such sharp memories that they can easily challenge teachers on a disagreement and can school their peers without any hint of shyness while getting above average marks without studying too much. This trait of theirs happens to be a paradox, while they can easily talk to you about any topic under the sun( although you would be scrambling to get talk time because they have rich, baritone voices that drown conversations and these natives love talking) they can sometimes have no answer or idea about the simplest question or thing, from what I have inferred, these natives are moody and like being intelligent for their own pleasure, not because of a syllabus or peer pressure, they read what feels right to them and then they make up their own theories about their subject. This habit of taking the lead makes them successful leaders but in personal relationships, they are very prone to alienating their well wishers because of their stubbornness and inability to admit that they can be wrong too, the dictum by Alexander Pope that to err is human and to forgive, divine is something these natives should subscribe to.
To strengthen Jupiter, one can wear the golden sapphire, known as pukhraj in vernacular on their index finger, it is called the Jupiter finger and on a Thursday( Brihaspati is the name of Jupiter in Vedic texts and Thursday is called Brihaspativar). The mantra that goes for these natives is Om Gram Greem Graum Sah Gurave Namah. Wearing yellow shades is something these natives should do often and especially on Thursdays, for luckier results.
