Mars in The 1st House, Born Under the Blade

We have discussed the functioning of the nodes, Rahu and Ketu while also discussing the classical dictum, Shanivat Rahu, Kujavat Ketu which means Rahu behaves like Saturn and Ketu behaves like Mars, bringing us to today’s post, having Mars in your first house, the commander in chief of all the planets in the sky.

When one studies astrology, the Lal Kitab is mentioned a lot, it is a very old text on astrology that dictates how the planets behave in all their houses and provides remedies to cure their negative effects( it is interesting to note that Red is also the color of Mars, for Mars denotes blood and blood related problems), Lal Kitab extols the fact that the first house begins from Aries, denoted by the number 1 and ends at Pisces, denoted by the number 12, signifying all the houses in astrology. Aries is the exaltation sign for the planet Sun and is the own sign of Mars itself, so talking by Lal Kitab, it would be a blessed placement because the first house is about your physical appearance, your worldly outlook, your personality.

Naturally a planet like Mars does wonders there because it provides one with a commanding personality, extraordinary amounts of energy if placed well, a muscular, well built body and a lot of aggression, regardless of how it is placed. It would be interesting to note that Rahu behaves in a Martian way at times, because both planets have excellent leadership qualities, high amounts of energy, a desire to do things as fast as possible and the urge to dominate as well, although Rahu would gain leadership by subtle psychological persuasion and Mars would more or less declare it actively in a thundering voice and manner.

Of course, the aggressive part on Mars is quite the reason a lot of Martian men( men especially because Mars is a hardcore masculine planet) end up in the military, athletics, surgery( they make excellent surgeons because Mars denotes blood and at the same time, its impulsiveness lands it in surgery too), politics, inventors and engineers. Narendra Modi has a first house Moon Mars, a combination that makes the normally feminine moon behave in a Mars like manner( a combination that I have as well) and the rest of the folks excluding Ayub Khan who had a first house Mars Venus, behaved in a more Venus like manner, his expensive tastes clothing were well known and he was a drinker in a country where it was frowned upon( so did General Dayan but unlike Khan, he was Mars through and through, he lost his eye in war, a true child of Mars) just like Jinnah, although Jinnah was a dour, cold personality because of his Saturn Mars combination, a combination he shared with Ali too, although the boxer was a much more eloquent personality. The rest of the men have Rahu Mars, a combination that is dreaded as the Angarak Yoga, because two of the most malefic planets in astrology sit together and so you can imagine what the lives of these natives look like, although Shivaji Maharaj had it too and he overthrew the Mughal army, but so did John Dillinger, one of America’s most famous gangsters in the 1920s-1930s, although he was a darling of the press for his good looks and charisma, which is where the Rahu part shines.

Mars natives in numerology are denoted by the number 9, the most potent number of all( natives born on the 9th, 18th and 27th of any month, for instance me, I am January 18 born, which could be the reason I feel I have a lot to say about Mars) and have no shortage of derring do, style and aggression, something that could go either way, they could do something that changes the entire system, for good or worse, these natives do not exactly have the word moderation in their dictionary, they thrive on conflict and extremes, which is why you will actually see them shine in conflicts, wars and situations that look completely unresolvable, they are gifted at seizing opportunities. From my own experience, Mars natives are rarely popular and loved, they are feared, respected but unless there is something of Moon Mars or Mars Venus, they are polarizing personalities and ironically, they like it this way.

You want a person who can take charge of any situation? You go to a Mars fellow. You want somebody who will win fights? You go to a Mars fellow. How do you convince them? You just say the magic words- this looks like it cannot be simply done. Although these natives are already superbly high on motivation, this would make sure that whatever that thing is, it is done, as swiftly as possible.

To bolster your Mars and reduce the negative effects, worship Lord Hanuman on Tuesdays, wear the red coral gemstone( known as mooga in vernacular) although it is a common side effect to have sudden short temper spells and surges in energy after wearing it, so do wear it carefully.
